Dr. Zhiwei Zhang is a Lecturer and Master’s Supervisor at the Department of Ocean Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology at Weihai. His research focuses on structural safety analysis and metal corrosion, contributing to advancements in the durability and reliability of engineering materials. Dr. Zhang has published over ten SCI-indexed papers as the first or corresponding author. He is the principal investigator of several research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Youth Project), the Shandong Provincial Natural Science Foundation (Youth Project), and the HIT Young Faculty Development Fund. Dr. Zhang earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2021 through an integrated Master-Ph.D. program. He was a visiting scholar at The Ohio State University from 2018 to 2019, where he expanded his expertise in structural engineering. Prior to joining Harbin Institute of Technology as a lecturer in 2022, he worked as a design engineer at the China Institute of Building Standard Design & Research. Additionally, he served as a member of the 16th Graduate Teaching Support Team of the Communist Youth League of China in Yibin, Sichuan. His diverse academic and professional experience has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of structural analysis and corrosion research, making significant contributions to the field.
