Dr. Shen Yu

Dr. Shen YU has been serving as a senior scientist at the Institute of Urban Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences and full professor at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2008. He earned his Ph.D. in agronomy from Zhejiang University, China, in 2002 and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at University of Florida and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey from 2002 to 2005 in the USA and worked as a non-tenure research fellow at Rutgers University in 2005-2008. Dr. Yu’s research focuses on environmental change and ecological adaptation in response to intensifying anthropogenic activities and regional development (e.g., urbanization) at scales ranging from watersheds to the globe. His latest studies emphasize the interaction between environmental quality and resistance in urban settings, particularly concerning antimicrobial residues and resistance genes.
